Vilafranca is known internationally for its wines: Catalan Cava and wines of the Penedès Denomination of Origin (DO), with multinational brands such as Bodegas Torres. Apart from the wines and cavas, Vilafranca is also known for Castellers de Vilafranca and for its Festa Major, which has one of the oldest dragons in Europe (around the year 1600) and about twenty dances, entremeses and colles castelleres
