Description
Spectacular, funny poster advertising a French medicinal mint spirit, featuring several prestigious "testimonials": from left to right, Charlemagne, Louis XI, François the 1st, Marianne, Henri IV, Saint Louis, Louis XIV (who says:"What a wonderful digestive to finish off my six meals!") and Napoleon. French poster artist and painter Adrien Barrère (pseudonym of Adrien Baneux) was a master of caricatures; he designed a large number of posters for Parisian cinemas (his collaboration with Pathé was particularly successful, with a production of over 200 posters) and Grand Guignol.
