Description
Les Vins de Bourgogne de Henri de Bahèzre - Maison Fondée en 1886 - Nuits-St. Georges (Côte d'Or)
Guy Arnoux (1886-1951), was a French artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He illustrated nearly 80 books, including several outstanding large format prints for printer, Devembez. Born into a military family, military and patriotism were his favourite themes. This poster, an advertising for Burgundy winemaker Henri de Bahèzre is a good example of this, featuring a French navy officer taking a break to enjoy a glass, or perhaps a full bottle, of Burgundy wine. Maison Henri de Bahèzre is still thriving today so the next time you are in Burgundy why not visit them for a tasting. While you are there, the poster can be also viewed at the Musée d'Histoire et d'Archéologie in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
