Description
After a successful career in Spain, Catalan artist Ferran Texidor went into exile in the USA on 1937. He had a career full of successes in New York: he worked as illustrator, poster artist, muralist and art director. He was engaged by the agencies McCann-Erickson and J. Walter Thompson; his illustrations were published on several important magazines. But above all, he realised a number of covers for Dell Press, a publishing house owned by George Delacorte. Always on Delacorte's commission, Texidor drew two of Central Park best-loved landmarks: the Alice in Wonderland Sculpture (1959) and the Delacorte Clock (1965). Beautiful lithograph poster promoting a masked ball held at Gran Teatre Liceu. Printed by G. Seix y Barral. Linen backed, B+ condition. Dimensions in inches: 24.8 x 16.9.
