En julio Valencia se prepara para vivir su tradicional Gran Feria de Valencia, un mes en que la ciudad ofrece numerosas actividades y sus calles se llenan de color y ritmo con conciertos al aire libre y castillos de fuegos artificiales junto al mar. También hay tiempo para la cultura, una noche con los museos abiertos hasta el amanecer y la espectacular Batalla de Flores, un espectacular colofón a estos días en que Valencia vibra a ritmo de jazz, pop, rock y huele a pólvora, rosas y margaritas.
Se inauguró el 21 de julio de 1871, con una vistosa cabalgata, pabellones y exposiciones de plantas y venta de productos en general. Año tras año, aquello llevó a que, coincidiendo con la recolección de las cosechas, se celebrasen esos días exposiciones de producto y ganado, en un entorno lúdico de bailes y veladas de ocio en los pabellones habilitados para la Feria.
