Description
The very first ad poster for Cachou Lajaunie, a licorice breath mint created in 1880 by French pharmacist Léon Lajaunie. As stated in the poster, the product was "recommended for smokers, chauffeurs, cyclists, etc..." Tamagno shows here a young Belle époque woman presenting a couple of tins of Lajaunie Cachou to a group of gentlemen (who are, indeed, smokers, chauffeurs, etc.). Lithograph poster printed by Sirven.
