En una rada magnífica se encuentra Villefranche-sur-Mer, un bonito y colorido pueblo con un encantador puerto pesquero. Este paraje ofrece una hermosa vista sobre la península de Cabo Ferrat, corazón de la Riviera francesa. Esta espléndida península alberga además uno de los palacios más bellos de la Costa Azul, la villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, en Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, palacete de estilo italiano que se puede visitar.
Cuando hace buen tiempo, la ciudad vieja de Villefranche-sur-Mer, con sus calles estrechas y llenas de color, atrae a numerosos visitantes y se anima con las terrazas de los cafés y con los restaurantes que ofrecen especialidades locales.
La capilla de Saint-Pierre, próxima al puerto pesquero, fue decorada por Jean Cocteau en 1957. La ciudadela, edificada en el siglo XVI con el fin de proteger la rada, alberga museos y exposiciones temporales.
