Description
Great Art Deco poster promoting the thermal station of Plombières-les-Bains. Jean d'Ylen (pseudonym of Jean-Paul Béguin) was a French painter, illustrator and poster artist; he was one the first and rare poster artists who employed an imagery close to surrealism (especially for Shell). He was a disciple and admirer of Leonetto Cappiello; ironically, in 1919 he took Cappiello's place at Vercasson. Lithograph poster printed by Vercasson. linen backed, A condition.
