Description
En 1982 participó en la Documenta VII, en Kassel, como único participante español. A menudo se ha considerado esta muestra como la plataforma de su proyección internacional. Victoria Combalia el seleccionó para la exposición «26 pintores, 13 críticos», que la "Caja" presentó en Barcelona y que itinerante con posterioridad por varios lugares de la Península. A continuación, expuso individualmente en las galerías Trece (Barcelona), Fúcares (Almagro) y Axe Art Actuel (Toulouse), lo que constituyó su primera muestra personal en el extranjero. A la inauguración de esta exposición conoció Jean-Louis Froment, que adquirió algunos de sus cuadros para la colección del CAPC de Burdeos, así como Yvon Lambert. En ese mismo año, participó en las muestras «Cuadernos de viaje" y "Azul" (Barcelona); «Barcelona ocho-dos» (Pamplona); «Homenaje a Murillo» (Sevilla); «Libros de artista» (Madrid); y «Preliminar» (Pontevedra), posteriormente itinerante.
En esta época comienza a incorporar a sus cuadros el tema del artista en su taller y el de las bibliotecas. Su trabajo recoge toda una serie de referencias de marcado carácter autobiográfico, que respondían «su deleite de cuadros, a su afán incesante de ver y de hablar de arte y de pintores», como dijo Froment. Presentó en la sede del Colegio de Arquitectos de Palma una amplia muestra de su obra expresionista de temática animalística
