Description
A piece of Italian history: Jesus Jeans was the first Italian denim brand. At the beginning of the 1970s, in order to promote it, Oliviero Toscani and Emanuele Pirella conceived one of the most provocative campaigns ever: a close-up of a model's derriere wearing denim hot pants, with the evangelical quote "Chi mi ama mi segua" ("He who loves me follows me"). The reaction against it was incredibly unanimous (for different reasons, both the Church and the intellectuals disapproved it), and in the 1974, the ad was condemned by the censorship. After that, another version of the ad (without the quote) was created.
